Fergie & Josh Duhamel
While this was a marriage I never fully understood, I always thought that Fergie and Josh were one of those rare hollywood couples that would make it. From what I've heard, the reason for their split is that they are just too different. Josh seems to be very traditional - he grew up in the Midwest and was the Quarterback for his High School football team - and he wanted to give their son that same type of normal life. Fergie, however, seems to love the celebrity lifestyle and was more eccentric than Josh. This relationship definitely started out as an "opposites attract" situation, but over time it looks like their differences just pushed them apart. Am I devastated by this breakup? No. But they were a super hot couple and it's always a little sad when super hot people break up.
Selena Gomez & The Weeknd
I was so happy to see Selena move on to someone who seemed to be very stable and sweet (aka not Justin Bieber). She genuinely seemed very happy with "Abel" and it was refreshing to see her finally living her best life. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. After 10 months, it was revealed that they had separated and she is now back together with Justin Bieber. I know, I don't understand it either. While I'm not thrilled that she's back with him, I'm very intrigued to see if she is able to change him for the better. But it does seem like her relationship with JBiebs is causing a lot of problems between her and her family - apparently her mom unfollowed her on Instagram. When you're mom unfollows you, you know you're in trouble...
Blac Chyna & Rob Kardashian
Ugh. The only reason they are on this list is because of all the drama they have created for us this year, it's truly been a gift. Remember when Rob shared on Snapchat how Chyna took all his food and their baby and left him? Or when he posted those crotch shots and revealed he paid $100,000 for her to have full body plastic surgery? Great times, but thank God this relationship is over. That's all I have to say. That's literally it. It never made sense and it's incredibly obvious she was with him for revenge. Ok, that's actually it. Bye.
Kylie Jenner & Tyga
Another ugh. This relationship never made sense either (and was actually pretty gross) so it was only a matter of time before it ended. While it was pretty normal for them to break up and get back together, I don't see that happening this time as Kylie is "rumored" to be (and by rumored I mean she definitely is) pregnant with Travis Scott's (eww) baby. Creepily, Tyga either can't let go or has a serious type because he's been spotted with Kylie lookalikes almost every time they've broken up. Honestly, this relationship was doomed from the get-go considering Tyga has a baby with Blac Chyna who has major beef with the Kardashian family and also has a baby now with Kylie's brother Rob - it's a whole thing and it's way too complicated and gross.
Vanessa Grimaldi & Nick Viall
While you may have thought that I would have Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell on this list instead, you are wrong and I will tell you why. I loved Lauren and Ben, but as soon as they did that Disney Wedding special I knew it was over. There's something about Nick and Vanessa's relationship though that never made much sense to me - or Bachelor nation for that matter. Vanessa was barely there the entire season and then came out of nowhere in the last like 3 episodes as a final two contender, eventually beating out RAVEN for Nick's heart. I mean we all know that Raven dodged a bullet and is now in a super cute relationsup, but c'mon, it was Raven! Nick and Vanessa's relationship always seemed too calculated for me, and I feel vindicated by their breakup, so that's why they're on this list.
Brittany Cartwright & Jax Taylor
Ok, so when I originally wrote this, we had just found out that Brittany and Jax broke up on Vanderpump Rules. After rumors started swirling in the season 6 premier that Jax slept with ex-SUR server, Faith, he vehemently denied anything happened, but we later find out that he actually did. As a rule of thumb, most Vanderpump fans know that pretty much any rumor that has anything to do with Jax is true so this wasn't a surprise. We all know Jax is loser, and Brittany tried really hard to make their relationship work, I mean, she genuinely believed he was going to propose to her soon. But once a cheater, always a cheater. Brittany was heartbroken, but it seems like she has forgiven him and taken him back - which I personally don't understand. I had a lot of respect for her when I thought she left him for good, but he is the reason she's on the show in the first place so their reconciliation probably has something to do with that.
Billie Lourd & Taylor Lautner
A lot of people may not have even known that these two were together, but frankly, I'm still not over their breakup. Billie and Taylor were the couple I never knew I needed and I am devastated that their relationship was so short. Taylor starred in Season 2 of Scream Queens, one of my favorite shows, and played Billie's "unhuman" love interest, but soon their off-set relationship blossomed as well. It was glorious and we got so many cute Instagram pictures from it. I have been in love with Taylor since he was Sharkboy and Billie seems like such a cool girl and I really want to be her friend. I was just personally very emotionally invested in their relationship, ok?
Luann de Lesseps & Tom D'Agostino
It's about Tom. Oh Countess, where do I even begin. Luann has been looking for love for a long time. I thought Jacques the frenchman was the one for her, but apparently she thought it was this guy. All of her housewives "friends" warned her about him, Sonja kept mentioning that she used to be Tom's booty call, but Luann was too blinded by love to realize the problems their relationship had (the biggest being that other woman he clearly had a thing for). Bethenny sacrificed their friendship to tell her about the incident at The Regency, but instead of getting mad at Tom for making out with a random woman in the bar while they were engaged, she took her anger and embarrassment out on Bethenny and the wedding in Palm Beach was still on. Sadly, only seven months later the announcement came that her and Tom were splitting up, and another RHONY marriage bites the dust. Luann is dealing with it all really well though - she just got arrested in Palm Beach and has put herself into rehab...
Shannon & David Beador
Oh, Shannon. While all Real Housewive of Orange County fans thought that Shannon and David should separate, no one thought they would ever pull the trigger. After David admitted to cheating they tried and tried to rebuild their marriage, but you could literally see David's hatred for Shannon in his beady little eyes every time he looked at her. .No on'es surprised they've broken up, but I think all RHOC fans thought they only way this relationship would end is if David murdered Shannon. No mater how hard they tried. Another big point of contention was that while David would go to the gym for hours every day to get away from their problems at home, Shannon was gaining weight from being an emotional eater. We all know that's never a good combination. Thank goodness they already eulogized eachother in that Marriott conference room only 2 seasons ago.
Anna Faris & Chris Pratt
The breakup that proved love is officially dead. Absolutely no one saw this one coming and it hit the world like freaking freight train and we're all shook. When I heard the news that they had broken up, I felt physically sick. Announcing their split through their social media pages by writing out a text message and screenshotting it (strange but ok). They seemed to be the perfect couple. They were both super funny, cute and have the most adorable son together - how could they not make it? The one and only positive to come from this is that Chris Pratt is now on the market again.
2017 was a hard year for celeb breakups (particularly in the Bravo Universe). What couple were you most devastated by? And what couples do you think will breakup in 2018?
