5 Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

When it comes to my outfits for Thanksgiving, I usually tend to want to dress more comfortable as in my family, it is more of a casual holiday. We get up, watch the parade in our pjs, start the food preparations, eat, and then end up on the couch watching a christmas movie, so we don't really leave the house at all that day. However, I do know that there are a lot of families who like to dress up for Thanksgiving so I put together a few casual outfit options and a few more dressed up options. I'm going to New York for the holiday so hopefully I'll be able to get some shots of my outfits and start posting some OOTD posts soon!

My Fashion Inspiration

People always ask me who inspires my style. It was actually a question I couldn't answer right away because I take my inspiration from a lot of different things. I'm on Pinterest and Tumblr pretty much 24/7 and I get a lot of my inspiration from there, but when it comes to actual people, I had to really think about it. So I went through all the fashion blogs I follow and who I pinned the most on Pinterest and narrowed it down to my top 3 inspirations.

Classic and comfortable. Miranda Kerr's off-duty street style is definitely my biggest inspiration for anything style related. I think she does a really great job making comfortable items look so polished and put together. One of the things I love most is that her look is classic and minimal, she wears outfits that you can wear on the streets of New York or to class. She mixes polished pieces with laid back essentials.

Elegant with a bit of an edge. I absolutely love Olivia's style. She keeps her look graceful and stylish, but always has some kind of an edge to it. Similar to Miranda's style, it's easy, and I take inspiration from her because of that.  It shows that you can dress well and still be comfortable. She mixes feminine classics with contemporary cuts, often pairing simple staple pieces with a more eclectic piece.

Effortless and cool. Sincerely Jules is a fashion blog I've been following for a while, and I am fascinated by her ability to look like she's just hopped out of bed and threw on a perfectly simple and cool outfit. Miranda and Olivia's styles were about looking put together and polished, but what I love about her style is that it's effortlessly cool, and as she says "imperfect". She also takes inspiration from a lot of my favorite celebrities as well such as the Olsen twins, Alexa Chung, and Nicole Richie.

Halloween Costume Ideas

Since there is just a little over a week left until halloween I thought I'd make a post of some potential costumes. If you're like me and can never seem to think of a good Halloween costume until basically the night before, fear not! I decided to be proactive this year and have been thinking of costume ideas for a few weeks now. Also, being in college, I realize funds can be limited and nobody wants to put in a crazy amount of time into a costume. So I put together some sets of potential outfits for each idea!

For this costume it's all about the makeup. Purchase a black eye pencil to get add the stitching effect and just do a bold eye and add some cream blush!

Every Halloween girls go for this classic costume, and that's because it's super simple but still so cute! Wear an all black outfit and pair it with some cat ears. To really set yourself apart tease your hair a bit and do a dramatic smokey eye with a bold lip.

Wednesday Addams is another classic costume that doesn't take too much work. If you have a black long sleeve dress wear it with a white button down underneath and add some black boots, or you can do a black skirt and shirt with the white button down underneath. Put your hair in braids and keep your makeup to a minimum. Don't forget the scowl!
Who doesn't love a great '90s costume? Clueless is such a classic movie and their looks are so cute and so easy to recreate! Grab a plaid or tartan skirt, pair it with a white button down, some kind of black sweater or cardigan, white knee high socks and Mary Janes. Straighten your hair and maybe add a headband with minimal makeup and you're ready to go!

This one is probably the most complicated simply because it all revolves around the makeup. Obviously not everyone is going to be able to create a makeup look like in these tutorials (x, x) and if you're not feeling up to doing that much makeup, go for more of a zombie look like this.

Hopefully this helps you guys figure out what you want to be this Halloween or helped inspire some new ideas! To see all these exact items go to my Polyvore

Fall Outfit Inspiration

Fall is my favorite season, style wise anyway, and since it's officially fall I have been on Pinterest nonstop looking for new outfit inspiration. These are a few of my favorites that I have found so far. The weather here in Chicago can be so bipolar so I put up to a mix of outfits for those days that are a bit warmer and then for the very cold days.

I am loving chunky scarves, little booties, and oversized sweaters so far this season.
